You may say I'm a dreamer
I've been overwhelmed by the interest in this image. It transports us away from our world of worries to a place of inner peace.
This fine art image was awarded silver in the open landscape section of the 2013 International Loupe Awards. It is offered as part of a limited edition of 50 prints.Lake WanakaLakeLandscapesLong exposureMountainMountainsNew ZealandOtagoSunriseTreeWanakaWillowReflectionSpring
Beautiful lies
Even in summer Kohaihai Beach has a strong sense of isolation. It's off the beaten track and is without so many creature comforts. It lacks the major draw cards of the Glacier Region. But this is easily forgiven when you consider the lack of tourists with campervans, its' milder climate and the proximity to the Oparara Basin. The pastel tones and horizontal lines in this image convey a sense of tranquility but one would be foolish not be respect any West Coast beach. Standing in ankle depth water I was nearly swept off my feet by the rip.

Breathless
No matter how many times I photograph the Wanaka tree, there is always a different mood. It teaches me to accept things as they are, to look past my preconceptions and to capture the beauty as it presents on the day. It's a lifetime of learning and I hope my favourite tree will appear in many images to come.
